In this English edition of the program "Die Sendung mit der Laus", a book is presented that everyone should read, who even thinks about having kids: "French Children Don't Throw Food", the U.K. edition of the US original "Bringing Up Bébé" by Pamela Druckerman. The US American author describes her live as an Anglophone mother living and raising her kids in Paris. She and her British husband feel like aliens in France. Especially when it comes to the topic of how to raise a child. Pamela Druckerman wonders, how come French babies sleep through the night, why French children happily eath what is put in front of them, how French mothers chat to their friends while their children play quietly and why French mothers are more likely to be seen in skinny jeans than in tracksuit bottoms. On her research to the answers of those and more questions, the author talks to French mothers, children's educators, psyhologists and many other experts. Describing her life as an Anglophone mum struggling with raising her kids, she is highly self-ironic. The book is smart, funny and provocative.
