Mukuna is a Swiss DJ and Producer, whose rhythmic approach to electronic music shapes his unique identity in todayʼs dance music scene. Raised in Basel, Switzerland, the swiss-Congolese artist gained a reputation as a key figure in the local scene trough his genre-bending style of DJing. Since being a kid and taking Senegalese drum lessons, the main essence of his music has been percussion. As he got into clubbing and electronic music, he quickly fell in love with it. He began exploring every corner of this newfound playground. Since nobody played and matched the kind of music he wanted to hear, he decided to give it a try himself. After a few gigs in smaller clubs of Basel, he was able to quickly establish himself as part of the local scene. This leads him to a residency at the also Basel based club Elysia. His DJ style is best described as a variety of polyrhythmic percussions, pounding beats and of never being shy to surprise the crowd. these aspects are also transferable to the style of his productions.

In 2017 he also founded the Label Somatic Rituals together with his longtime collaborators Kombé, Mafou and the visual artists Dimitri Erhard, Flavio Karrer & Lukas Schläpfer. Somatic Rituals have been hosting a series of inclusive parties at Elysia Basel and other venues in the nationwide. In 2018 Mukuna, alongside Kombé and Mafou, released his first tape titled SORI001 on their new platform.
