Based in "So-called Vancouver," LIONESSA is a fierce DJ, event curator, and community builder who boldly embodies her queer Egyptian-Canadian identity through an electrifying fusion of mesmerizing North African and Arabic rhythms with underground global influences. LIONESSA approaches event curation by blending culturally nuanced performance art with visually and sonically immersive experiences. She is the co-founder of the collective Egyptian Street Meat, an all-queer Egyptian collective of performance artists and DJs, and a seasoned curator in Vancouver’s cultural landscape. Her dream is to share her culturally influenced sound with every corner of the planet, creating moments of magic and movement with kindred souls.

"Vancouver" is on the unceded territories of xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. As an immigrant, LIONESSA acknowledges her position as an uninvited settler on these lands.
